During the times we were isolated in our homes in 2020 we set out to make a Nebraska tribute. I had always wanted to pay homage to this record with friends and make a big evening of it. But traveling musicians as we were, we'd chat about it here and there when we passed ships around the country and never have the time. In 2020 we all finally had the time. Over 8 states and Ecuador we managed to pull it together. The only rules where: you draw your Nebraska song from the hat, and you turn it in eventually. Long before 2020 American Goon (TN )had recorded their Johnny 99 on reel to reel that's since been releases as a 7 ". Still after that Rabbit Killer (MO) made a cello for the surreal cover of Mr. State Trooper. Wonky Tonk (KY) was left out of the country at a Yoga retreat, and like many of us recorded their track on a mobile device. We all played our part and the results were astounding; cow punk seemed to trickle into this vision as easily as any ernest homage to The Boss. Notes of bluegrass garnished the tribute as well. On this compilation you will hear the angst of the time it was recorded, as well as a fair amount of hope and lonesomeness; much like the original. Thank you FOREVER to those that made this possible and committed to such a strange vision. If any of the artists on this comp are new to you I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU LOOK THEM UP! I still hope we don't get sued.
